Avalon, California is the on Santa Catalina Island. Aside from the small unincorporated town of Two Harbors, Avalon is the only city on the island. Personal transportation in and around Avalon is, for the most part, limited to small vehicles approximately the size of golf carts. Obtaining the proper permits to operate a full size vehicle on the island is very difficult. Avalon does offer other modes of transporatation with its many scooter and bicycle rental businesses, shuttle buses and several private cab companies.
